One month after the governor of the state of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), removed delegate Fabio Pinheiro Lopes, known as Fabio Caipira, from his position as director of the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) — for being cited in the Vinícius Gritzbach’s statement about involvement among police officers in the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) scheme —, the department appointed a new director.
This Friday (17), Ronaldo Augusto Comar Marão Sayeg was appointed to the department in the Official State Gazette. Chief Sayeg was in charge of the Narcotics Investigations Department (Denarc), which was now headed by Carlos César Castiglione, with the change of positions by the Civil Police.
The new holder of the Deic has a 26-year career and has a master’s degree in Law, Justice and Development, and a doctorate in Social Function of Law.
Fabio Caipira’s departure
On December 20th of last year, Fabio Caipira was removed from the leadership of Deic the same week that the Federal Police carried out an operation that arrested seven people, including police officers and civilians.
At the time, police chief Murilo Fonseca Roque, then head of the 24th Police District (DP), of Ponte Rasa, was also removed for having been cited in the Gritzbach accusation, which was executed at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos (SP) , on November 8th.
In a press conference called, after being removed from the Civil Police, Fabio Caipira said that he was deceived by lawyer Ramsés Benjamin Samuel Costa Gonçalves.
The delegate also stated that the accusations that the lawyers had met with him, at the DEIC headquarters in São Paulo, are fallacious, since at no time did he receive Ramsés, and that at no time did he present a power of attorney in the name of Vinícius Gritzbach.
