Delivery Hero SE, whose Group includes efood, completed on July 1, 2022 the acquisition of the companies ALFA DISTRIBUTIONS SA, INKAT SA, DELIVERY.GR IKE and E-TABLE IKE of the Mouchal Group. The agreement was announced in October 2021, and has since received the unanimous approval of the Competition Commission for its implementation based on commitments submitted by Delivery Hero.

With this acquisition, Delivery Hero and efood are expanding their activities in the retail and wholesale sector in Greece, at the same time expanding the portfolio of services and solutions they offer to their customers.

ALFA DISTRIBUTIONS and INKAT SA have many years of activity in the Greek market, having executives with significant experience and an extensive network of owned and partnered stores (kiosks, mini markets, convenience stores, convenience stores). As of 2020, efood, a subsidiary company of Delivery Hero in Greece, had already launched its collaboration with INKAT for the distribution of retail products from the efood market service.

With the completion of the acquisition, the business processes and the experienced management staff of the Mouchal Group companies will be integrated into efood, strengthening the strategic development of the company and the dynamic expansion of the supermarket distribution service, with a focus on the rapid service of the consumer for everyday essentials. At the same time, as part of the strategic plan of the partnership of the two companies, the retail network of convenience stores and affiliated stores of the Mouchal Group will be expanded, both in terms of the number of points of sale and geographically.

We are particularly happy about the completion of the agreement with the Mouchal Group, based on which we are given the opportunity to accelerate the expansion and expansion of our services. The journey of the companies of the Mouchal Group to date in the market is the guarantee for the success of the project of strengthening efood with the transferred activities of the Mouchal Group. In the near future, we will be able to announce the start of the implementation of our strategic plan, aiming at a better and more complete experience for our customers with the integration of new services’, noted Haris Takas, Senior Q-commerce & Logistics Director.

Regarding the acquisition of E-TABLE in particular, Delivery Hero, through efood, undertook certain commitments to the Competition Commission for two years from the completion of the transaction, remaining true to its principles and values of respect for free competition and the relationship trust it has with its business customers and users. In this context, it will ensure that each customer can freely choose to purchase efood’s ordering and/or delivery services separately from e-table’s table reservation services, without imposing any kind of obligation to purchase these services in combination. Also, no special discounts will be provided, nor will the services be offered at a lower price if the customer wishes to purchase both types of services, and a separate pricing policy will apply to each service. These commitments will be included in the terms of cooperation with the clients, who will be informed by relevant communication. At the same time, Delivery Hero, fully respecting the provisions for the protection of personal data of its users, will handle the data of e-table and efood users in full compliance with them when sending promotional updates.
