Demi Moore tries to “not dwell on the past” when visiting Bruce Willis

The actress Demi Moore 61, tries not to “cling” to the image of the old Bruce Willis 69, when she visits her ex-husband. The star of “Ghost – The Other Side of Life ” (1990) believes that it is essential to be “in the present” when meeting the actor of “Die Hard ” (1988), who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) .

“The important thing is to meet him where he is, rather than clinging to who he was, how he was,” the actress said during an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning. “Because, again, that just puts you in a place of loss, rather than being in the present, meeting him where he is, and finding the joy and love in everything that is where he is right now.”

Moore and Willis were married from 1987 to 2000 and are parents to three daughters: Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.

The actress is focused on the things that bring her “joy” in life and doesn’t feel like she needs to set career goals right now. “I think I’m in a different place in my life than I’ve ever been. I have more autonomy. My kids are grown. I have the most independence I’ve ever had,” she said. “And so I’m really trying to focus on what really brings me joy. I don’t like to project and say, ‘Well, this is where I want to be,’ because I don’t know. I don’t know where I’m going to be. But I do know that this is an opportunity for me to really enjoy myself!”

Demi Moore was recently asked about the advice she gave her daughters on how to communicate with their father, and in a similar response, she shared how she “treasures” the time the family spends together.

“What I tell my daughters is that you meet people where they are. You don’t hold on to who they were or who you wish they were, but who they are in this moment. And from that, there’s so much beauty and joy and love and sweetness. When I’m in L.A., I go there every week, and I really cherish the time we spend together,” she said during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”
