Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will travel to Moscow tomorrow, Friday, February 18, to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov. After the face-to-face meeting between the two Foreign Ministers, extended talks will follow.
The talks are expected to focus on security in Europe, the situation in Eastern Europe, as well as in the Eastern Mediterranean, according to a foreign ministry statement. Also, in the context of the traditional historical ties between the two countries, bilateral cooperation will be considered.
Following the extended talks, there will be joint statements to the press (around 12 noon) followed by a working lunch.
It is noted that this will be the third visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias to the Russian Federation in the last two years.
