Dengue deaths in Brazil in 2022 exceed those recorded in the last six years

Brazil recorded 978 deaths from dengue in 2022, the highest since 2015, according to the most recent epidemiological bulletin from the Ministry of Health, released on the 5th.

The accumulated is a record since 2015, when a total of 986 deaths due to the disease were recorded.

In addition to the confirmed deaths, another 98 are under investigation, according to the ministry’s bulletin.

To date, the number of deaths from dengue across the country has increased by almost 300% (297%) compared to the 2021 total, when it registered 246.

According to the Ministry of Health, in recent years, the largest dengue epidemics in Brazil occurred in 2015 (986), 2016 (701) and 2019 (840), in addition to 2022.
