Denmark advises citizens who have changed sex to contact the US Embassy before visiting the US

Denmark’s transgender citizens are advised to communicate with the US Embassy in Copenhagen before visiting the US, amid concerns that President Donald Trump’s policies on sex can cause problems in their travel documents. The announcement was made a week after issuing a corresponding warning from Finland following Trump’s executive decree that the US would only recognize two sexes – Andra and Woman. The Denmark Foreign Ministry did not directly refer to Trump’s decree but stated that the application for the electronic travel license system (ESTA) has only two sexes to choose a man or a woman, and this can cause complications. “If your passport has a sex definition or if you have changed sex, it is recommended to contact the US Embassy for instructions on how to move on,” the updated Danish travel directive said.
