Denmark temporarily stopped using it AstraZeneca vaccine against the coronavirus, as announced by the health authorities of the country on Thursday.
The decision was made after recording several cases of blood clots in patients who had been vaccinated, according to Reuters.
It is noted that the European Medicines Agency has announced that a preliminary investigation showed no link between the AstraZeneca vaccine against Covid-19 and the death of an Austrian nurse.
Austria announced on Monday that it had stopped delivering a batch of vaccines made by the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca following the death of a 49-year-old nurse who had suffered from “severe blood clotting disorders” a few days after her vaccination.
One of her colleagues, 35 years old, who was vaccinated with a dose from the same batch, developed a pulmonary embolism but is now recovering.
Two more cases of “thromboembolic episodes were reported” after vaccinations with doses from the same batch, EMA announced.
