Denmark's parliament today voted against a bill to recognize a Palestinian state, after the country's foreign ministry said earlier that the necessary conditions for recognizing an independent country were not met. Ireland, Spain and Norway formally recognized the state of Palestine today, after announcing last week that they would do so that angered Israel, which called the move “a reward for terrorism” and recalled its ambassadors. The bill was originally proposed at the end of February by four left-wing parties.
