Denmark will send military instructors to Britain to train Ukrainian soldiers and also plans to train Ukrainian officers in Denmark, the Danish defense minister said in an interview with Jyllands-Posten newspaper published today.
The interview came ahead of a summit in Copenhagen on Thursday, where the defense ministers of Britain, Denmark and Ukraine are expected to meet to discuss their long-term support for Ukraine, including military training, demining and arms supply.
“Denmark is sending 130 military instructors to a British training program within a short time,” Defense Minister Morten Bodskoff told Jyllands-Posten.
Denmark’s defense ministry did not immediately comment.
Bodskov told the newspaper that the trainers will provide basic military training, including civil warfare and war tactics, to Ukrainian soldiers with no or limited military experience.
In addition, as the minister added, Denmark will train Ukrainian military personnel on Danish soil starting with the training of army officers.
