A fan of Vladimir Putin, French actor Gerard Depardieu became his critic after the war in Ukrainereferring to the “crazy, unacceptable extremes” of the Russian president.
The Kremlin said today it was ready to explain the situation in Ukraine to the actoraccording to Reuters and the Athenian News Agency.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov told reporters today Depardieu does not fully understand the situation.
THE Depardieu“The Russian people are not responsible for the crazy, unacceptable extremes of their leaders, such as Vladimir Putin,” he, who was granted Russian citizenship in 2013, told AFP on Thursday.
Depardieu also said he would donate all proceeds from his three concerts in Paris (April 1-3) to “Ukrainians, victims of this fratricidal war.”
In 2013 the Putin granted Depardieu Russian citizenship, sparking outrage in France as the actor is accused of leaving his homeland to avoid being taxed with a new tax on millionaires.
The actor received his new passport from Putin himself at the Russian president’s Black Sea residence.
