With the announcement of a Transition PEC, which would release resources outside the spending ceiling to make a permanent Bolsa Família of R$ 600 feasible, the new government received messages from both the financial market and center politicians about the expectation of choosing the future finance Minister.
The risk that the new government will predict spending outside the spending ceiling of up to R$100 billion has generated fear even among management sympathizers, according to information from the Policy analyst at CNN Gustavo Uribe. The question proposed by CNN debate this Friday (4th) is: should the Lula government change the Budget Guidelines Law?
In the opinion of deputy Paulo Pimenta (PT), the budget presented by the current government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is “insufficient”, since, according to the deputy, there is a lack of funds for several areas such as education and health.
“The budget presented by President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is a very bad budget, it is insufficient by itself. There is no money for Popular Pharmacy, no money for indigenous health, no money for universities. There is practically no penny for school lunches, no money for school transport. And we present a commitment to the Brazilian population, to return the Bolsa Família to R$ 600, plus R$ 150 for each child up to 6 years old…
On the other hand, deputy Marcel Van Hattem (Novo) criticized part of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s speech, in which the president-elect says that “the wheel of the economy will turn again with the poor being part of the budget. With support for small and medium rural producers, responsible for 70% of the food that reaches our tables”.
For Van Hattem, the Brazilian economy has shown positive results and Lula’s statements would be “fallacious” and “demagogic”. In addition, the deputy disapproved of the way PT uses “the poor in his speech”.
“Once again we see a demagogic and fallacious speech when he talks about turning the wheel of the economy again, since it is already turning in the country. We have one of the lowest inflation rates in the world, an unemployment rate much lower than the PT left after the Dilma administration. It seems that the PT hurricane with Lula and Dilma did not pass. What we are seeing now is the repetition of the same fallacies, the same lies that were told back there… This story of using the poor in your speech is very ugly, the abuse of poverty that is done in 21st century Brazil no longer fits. by the left parties”, he said.
