According to store, the problem of illegal mining can be solved through differentiated tariffs. It is expected that their introduction will redirect mining companies to regions with an excess of electricity, which will avoid overloading energy networks in scarce areas.
“The optimal solution is to transfer mining to energy -inflammatory areas not by prohibitions, but by economic incentives. The current regulation does not always allow this. For this, the introduction of an additional fourth price category of consumers is possible. The issue of creating a separate tariff category for miners is at the discussion stage, ”said the deputy head of the FAS.
Miners working in regions with an excess of electricity will be offered profitable tariffs. At the same time, in areas with deficiency risks, increasing coefficients can be introduced.
“The issue of expanding the tariff menu for such consumers is worked out. In energy -free areas, the tariff should be attractive to market participants, while in areas with risks of deficiency it is advisable to work out the issue of special pricing. There may be increasing coefficients in the tariff – both in the wholesale and electric grid segment, ”said stores.
The regulator representative added that to implement this idea, a number of changes to the legislation will have to be made.
Earlier, Kommersant reported that the government was considering the possibility of introducing year -round prohibition of mining for individuals and legal entities in the southern part of the Irkutsk region from April 1 to March 15, 2031.
