The “desperate effort” of an 11-year-old boy from Georgia USA, who jumped from school to escape bullying, his father described.
Dion Murphy told FOX5 Atlanta that his son jumped out of his window school bus last Wednesday, while other students were beating him. “A student attacked him in the face, pushing him towards the window. When another student fell he took his shoe and in a desperate attempt to escape, jumped out of the window. “said the father.
The school had stopped to turn when the student jumped out of it. He landed on a passing truck and then crashed into the highway, police said.
The child was taken to hospital with concussion and broken elbow, according to his father.
It was not the first time he had been bullied by his classmates. The family noted that they had notified the school of similar incidents in the past. “I think he was trying to get out of the situation. “He felt his back to the wall,” said the father.
“The school ignored it bullying and did nothing. “My child could have lost his life,” he added.
The son no longer goes to that school. A spokesman for schools in the area said there was knowledge of allegations of bullying, which “is not tolerated”. “The incident is being thoroughly investigated by school officials and any issues that may arise will be addressed appropriately.”
