New film in Universal Pictures’ animated franchise, “Despicable Me 4” is still in theaters, and talks about a fifth film in the saga starring Gru are already taking place.
In an interview published by the North American magazine Variety, Chris Renaud, director of the films, spoke about the possibility of making a fifth production.
“If we create a good story and it looks like we can go into some new territory, then it’s certainly possible,” he told the outlet.
“Despicable Me 4” premiered in Brazilian theaters on July 4. In the new story, the characters Gru, Lucy and their daughters – Margo, Edith and Agnes – welcome a new member of the family, Gru Jr., whose purpose is, basically, to torment his father.
Additionally, Gru faces new enemies. Maxime Le Mal and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina are so malevolent that they leave the Gru family no choice but to flee.
