Despite Anvisa’s endorsement, airlines postpone the return of full in-flight service

Gol and Latam stated to the CNN that will only resume food service on aircraft in June. Anvisa’s endorsement released the resumption of activity this Sunday (22).

In the case of Latam, the resumption will be simultaneous on all flights on June 1st. Gol has already made a gradual schedule that will only cover all flights on June 16th. Azul decided to resume this Sunday.

Although the service is no longer prohibited, Anvisa’s director of ports and airports, Alex Campos, told CNN that companies are not obliged to resume service immediately and there is no problem for the agency on account of the postponement. Anvisa does not act in the relationship between the airline and consumers.

In the case of Gol, the in-flight service resumed this Sunday (22) for flights departing from Congonhas (SP) and Guarulhos (SP). On June 1st, snacks will be distributed on flights departing from Brasília (DF), Santos Dumont (RJ) and Galeão (RJ).

The full service with various drinks (water, juices, soft drinks and coffee), in addition to snacks, will resume for 100% of domestic flights from June 16.

Latam already informed that it will resume on-board service on June 1 on all flights within Brazil. The company said it will offer options for sweet snacks, savory snacks and drinks (water, coffee, juice and soda). For the month of June, the company plans to operate 542 domestic flights per day in the country.

“We were very much looking forward to the resumption of in-flight service. It is very important to offer this experience to our customers again after more than two years of suspension”, said Aline Mafra, director of Sales and Marketing at Latam.
