Videos and images circulating on social media show the damage caused by the rains and windstorms recorded yesterday (15) in the state of Santa Catarina. Images obtained by CNN they show water dragging a car, a church destroyed by strong winds and other scenes of destruction.
According to the Civil Defense of Santa Catarina, the volumes of rain observed in the municipalities of Taió (55.8 mm), Videira (54.2 mm) and Mirim Doce (50.6 mm) were the highest in the entire state. The rainy weather is due to a cold front and the flow of heat and humidity that came from the Amazon region in recent days.
Destroyed church
In Guaraciaba, in the interior of the state, a windstorm caused damage to public offices, municipal and state schools, companies, private properties and destroyed the roof of a church, according to the city hall.
According to Guaraciaba City Hall, agents from the Civil Defense and Fire Department continue working to mitigate the damage and provide the necessary support to the inhabitants.

In the images, it is possible to see that the road is completely flooded, with the water reaching the height of the tops of some trees. It is not known if anyone was inside the vehicle.
