Deutsche Telekom, which also owns the US operator T-Mobile, announced that it is now acting as a validator for Polygon. Direct business processes for the service of staking and verification of the Proof-of-Stake Polygon network will be organized through a subsidiary company Multimedia Solutions (MMS).
“The collaboration with Polygon is an important step for Deutsche Telekom MMS to harness the potential of blockchain technology and build applications suitable for mass deployment,” said Dirk Röder, head of the Deutsche Telekom Blockchain Solutions Center.
MMS will manage the full node, produce blocks, validate and participate in network consensus, and fix checkpoints in Ethereum. This is expected to secure the Polygon Proof-of-Stake sidechain and Supernets chain, improving security, governance, and protocol decentralization.
Last October, Deutsche Telekom announced the launch of its own transaction validation node on the Ethereum blockchain to support staking on the network of the second largest cryptocurrency by capitalization.
