What is racial slur

Racial injury is a crime provided for in the Penal Code and establishes a punishment of 1 to 3 years of imprisonment and a fine for anyone who offends the dignity of another person using elements relating to race, color, ethnicity, religion, among others. Thus consisting of an attack on honor or image and violation of constitutional rights.

Unlike the crime of racism, provided for in Law 7.716/1989, which occurs when the person of the aggressor affects a group or collective of people, discriminating against an ethnicity in general. Thus, in the crime of racism, the offense is against a collectivity, for example, an entire race, there is no specification of the victim.
