Di Maio: Europe, united, must ask for a cap on the price of gas

In the light of the developments in Europe, in the light of the developments in Ukraine, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government, Draghi Luigi Di Maio, refers in a letter to the Italian financial newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.

“Europe, united, must ask for a cap on the price of gas,” Di Maio wrote. He added that Italy had taken immediate steps to support its businesses and diversify its gas supplies by signing new agreements.

“There are a number of important elements that we need to pay more attention to. Elements that call for a new impetus, in Europe, for the spirit of collectivity, which marked the first response to the coronavirus, and which we should all be urged to address today. “together with the challenge of setting a gas price cap. As well as achieving, at the transatlantic level, even more important economic and strategic coordination,” he said.

Luigi Di Maio, finally, adds that his country, in the context of new international developments, wants to strengthen relations and increase trade with countries that want to play an increasingly important role globally, such as India.
