Diana: The story of the sad princess comes to life again in a movie and documentary series

The ITV announced that it has commissioned two new projects for Princess Diana, a feature film and a series of documentaries. The projects were announced before Diana’s 60th birthday, which she would celebrate on July 1st. The movie with the title «Diana» The production of 72 Films utilizes unheard testimonies, rare files, photographs and letters to present Diana’s journey from adolescence to the years she became the wife of Prince Charles of Wales, reports APE.

THE Gemma Tsisnal directs the film, which will also explore who the Diana behind the camera and in her personal life. The Mark Rafael and David Glover are executive producers of the film. “There is something a little magical about Princess Diana – and despite the difficulties in her personal life, she managed to use her contact with people to do good. “Her 60th birthday is the right time to reconsider her life and her legacy and to explore how from a relatively unknown teenager to the saddest person she has ever lived,” said David Glover.

The series, entitled «Diana’s Decades» in each 60-minute episode will highlight how Diana inspired profound social change at different times in her life. THE Nick Angel is directing the series of Spun Gold with Jim Boyers producer Theresa Watkins executive producer. “This is Diana’s story, but it is also our story, and how her life has affected us, even in ways we do not fully know. “And we were looking for people who were there at the time to offer a new perspective on the life and years of Diana, the Princess of Wales.”

Diana, mother of Prince William and Prince Harry, died in a car accident while being chased by a paparazzi, aged 36, in August 1997. Harry said in May that he had resorted to alcohol and drugs to deal with his mother’s death.
