DiCaprio says he thanked Sharon Stone “many times” for paying his salary in “The Fast and the Dead”

In a recent interview, actor Leonardo DiCaprio revealed to “E! News” who thanked actress Sharon Stone “many times” for paying his acting salary in 1995 for the film “The Quick and Deadly.”

The star also added that the actress chose to support him financially after the studio denied her participation in the film directed by Sam Raimi, in which Stone played the lead role.

According to the actor’s account, Stone did not hesitate to act alongside DiCaprio and Russell Crowe, who were two rising stars at the time.

“She said, ‘These are the two actors I want to work with.’ She has been a huge supporter of film and has given opportunities to other actors, so I am very grateful,” she said.

In the memoir released in 2021, titled “The Beauty of Living Twice,” Stone revealed that he personally took over paying DiCaprio’s salary when studio TriStar Pictures refused to cast him in the project.

“This kid named Leonardo DiCaprio was the only one who aced the audition,” Stone wrote, adding that he auditioned several teenage actors for the role of The Kid.

“In my opinion, he was the only one who came in and cried, begging his father to love him as he died at the scene.”

Eternally grateful, the actor said that the actress was already a veteran in the film industry and, at the time, helped him enter his film career.

“I don’t know if I sent her a physical thank you gift, but I can’t even thank her enough,” he said.
