Diddy Case: Cassie has a shortened testimony to finish before delivery

The Court responsible for the judgment of Sean “Diddy” Combs took a series of measures to make the testimony of Cassie Ventura 38, be completed until this Friday (16)-preferably before the pregnant pop singer gives birth.

It is estimated that the rapper’s ex-girlfriend should give birth to her third child next month.

The prosecution called Cassie Ventura to the Witness Bank on Tuesday (13) as its third witness and ended the direct interrogation on Wednesday (14), at 5:15 pm GMT, leaving about 45 minutes for the expected end of the trial.

Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo asked the court to start the interrogation on Thursday morning (15) instead of immediately, but prosecutor Maurene Comey resisted.

“This witness is very, very pregnant. We fear that she may have the baby over the weekend,” Comey said, according to a transcript of Wednesday (14) conversation provided by the Court. “We want her to get out of the witness bank before the weekend and we believe 45 minutes can make a difference.”

Judge Arun Subramanian finally decided to end the day.

He informed the defense that they need to complete Ventura’s interrogation around Friday lunch (16), stating that direct interrogation took a day and a half, so the defense will have another day and a half. He left open the possibility of giving more time if there is something that “really needs to be done” after tomorrow’s lunch.

THE court reduced its lunch intervals, usually from an hour, to about 30 minutes and Subramanian proposed ways for the defense to streamline his questions while analyzing a series of evidence. After lunch on Thursday (14), Cassie received an iPad to review the material as part of the effort to speed up the process.

Agnifilo said the defense is trying to speed up the process, but emphasized the belief that Ventura is the most important witness of the case . “This is the demanded interrogation of a critical witness in a trial involving a life imprisonment sentence,” he said.

Cassie married personal trainer and actor Alex Fine in 2019 after meeting at a gym, according to an interview with Vogue. “I knew Alex was drawing a ring, but honestly I didn’t expect a super elaborate proposal because we had already set the wedding date, but he planned such a beautiful experience for me,” she said. “I was so surprised!”

The couple is now the father of two small daughters, Frankie and Sunny, and in February announced that a new member was joining the family.
