The wage negotiations in October had the worst result for workers among the base date 2021 analyzed by the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (Dieese).
Compared to the same month last year, deals closed in October 2021 were also worse for employees.
According to data released this Monday (22) by Dieese, 65.1% of wage adjustments agreed in October were below the inflation measured by National Consumer Price Index (INPC), do Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
The corrections in percentage equal to inflation (INPC) totaled 21.1% of cases and the results with values above the index, 13.8%. In October 2020, the results were 30.4%, 36.2% and 13.7%, respectively.
Considering the negotiations that took place from the beginning of the year to October, the percentage of readjustments below inflation is 49.8%.
Results equal to the inflation index are observed in 33.4% of the total analyzed; and above, in 16.8% of cases.
In the accumulated result for the year, the services sector continues to show a high rate of readjustments below inflation (61.4% of the sector’s total); industry, the highest percentage of results above the INPC (23.5%); and commerce, the highest percentage of corrections in values equal to the inflation index (47.9%).
According to Dieese, prices had an average increase of 1.16% in October and accumulated an increase of 11.08% in 12 months, a percentage that is equivalent to the necessary readjustment for salary recomposition in negotiations with a base date in November.
