Dies miss who jumped from the 6th floor to escape fire in SP

Mayara Nitão, 26, from Paraíba, will be veiled in João Pessoa, the capital of her home state. The date and exact location of the ceremony are still being defined by the family. The young woman died after jumping from the sixth floor of a burning building, this Saturday morning (26), in Itaim Bibi, a neighborhood in the west zone of São Paulo.

Businessman Cesar Nitão, father of the victim, came to the capital of São Paulo to deal with the release of the body and vented on social networks: “The hardest flight of my life”. In another publication, the businessman lamented the death of his daughter. “The love of my life is now a star in the sky! Love you forever my beautiful daughter,” he wrote.

According to the incident report, Mayara would have jumped out the window to escape the fire that hit her apartment. She was attended by firefighters, but she couldn’t resist.

Her 23-year-old brother is hospitalized at the Beneficência Portuguesa Hospital, in the central region of São Paulo. The boy inhaled smoke during the fire.

The cause of the fire has not yet been identified. The case was registered at the 14th DP of São Paulo, in Pinheiros.

Maya Nitão was crowned Miss Sertão Paraibano 2023. She was an entrepreneur and has lived in two country towns, Itaporanga and Patos. The young woman would represent her region in the 2023 National Beauty Contest, which will elect the 63rd Miss Brasil Mundo.
