Diesel rises 5% at pumps in the first half of July, says Ticket Log

The average price of diesel at Brazilian gas stations rose 5.39% in the first half of July compared to the closing of last month, to R$ 7.82 per liter, according to a survey carried out by Ticket Log, a brand for fleet management and mobility solutions. from Edenred Brazil.

The behavior of fuel in the period differs from that of gasoline and ethanol, which already reflected the effects of the law that limited ICMS rates on fuels.

In early July, gasoline dropped 10.22% at service stations, while ethanol dropped 6.33%, according to the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL).

The definition of a ceiling for the collection of ICMS by the States tends to have less impact on diesel, since the rates charged on the fuel were, in general, lower than those for gasoline and ethanol.

In the case of S-10 diesel, the average price increased by 5.34% in early July, reaching R$ 7.93 per liter.

“No state or region of the country registered a reduction in the price of the two types, but increases of up to 8.69%, like the S-10 type sold in the Federal District”, said Douglas Pina, director general of Mainstream, in a note. of the Fleet and Mobility Division of Edenred Brasil.

In the regional analysis, the North presented the highest averages in the country, with R$ 8.10 for a liter of common diesel and R$ 8.22 for the S-10.

The lowest average prices were recorded at gas stations in the South, at R$7.41 for regular diesel and R$7.51 for the S-10.

The survey is based on supplies made at Ticket Log’s 21,000 service stations.
