In view of the rise in Petroleum and with international economic uncertainties, Brazilian distributors fear an oil shortage diesel in the country from April. The information was confirmed by CNNthis Friday (11), with entities linked to the sector.
Brazilian distributors believe that the war in ukrainetogether with the Russian oil boycottgenerates a lack of global supply, which may cause a shortage of the input in Brazil.
The armed conflict is added to the escalation of the international price of oil, in which the Brent type, reference for the Petrobrasregisters values close to US$ 110 per barrel.
“We do run the risk of shortages. The sector fears that at the end of March, beginning of April, the lack of inputs will become a reality, if the international product does not arrive to complete the supply”, highlights a high-ranking member of a Brazilian institution.
The director of an important distributor detailed to the CNN like the war in Ukraine can generate a shortage of fuel in Brazil.
“The supply of diesel that is imported by Brazil comes mainly from the United States. The volume we import represents around 30% of our entire input. However, because of the war and the boycott of Russian oil, all this US supply is mainly destined for the European market. It’s supply and demand, and we here in Brazil could have a problem in the next few days,” he explained.
And it’s not just international economic uncertainties that worry the sector. Entities of the segment heard by the CNN point out that, within Brazil, with the escalation in inflationthe situation is also worrying.
Following international parity, Petrobras announced a readjustment in the cost of fuel to distributors this week.
As of this Friday (11), the price of diesel oil and Gasoline common had an increase of 24.9 and 18.8%, respectively. In practice, the value of inputs will change from R$3.61 to R$4.51 and from R$3.25 to R$3.86.
