‘Digital eye’ in the used vehicle market

The public information of each vehicle that has a Greek Traffic License can be sought by any interested party through the application that will be put into operation in the single digital portal of the State (gov.gr).

Through this application, one can check whether the vehicle is in a state of immobility, their current insurance status, whether a loss or theft has been declared and any other necessary details, without identification and only with the Vehicle Registration License.

The application will draw data from the electronic database for all vehicles available to AADE, on the basis of which the checks are carried out for vehicles that are moving without having paid Traffic Fees or are uninsured.

With the new application that is being implemented and will be accessible, individuals will be able to check if the vehicle they want to buy or use for any reason is circulating legally or illegally.

In particular, according to the joint decision signed by the Minister of Digital Government and State K. Pierrakakis, the Deputy Minister of Finance Ap. Vesyropoulos and the Commander of AADE G. Pitsilis, in Greece the following information will be presented:

a. Information on the condition of the vehicle, indicative of “theft”, “movement” or “immobility”, as well as the date it was immobilized.

b. Information on his insurance status, if he is “insured” or “uninsured”, and in case he is insured, the date and time of beginning and ending of insurance

c. Vehicle characteristics, indicative color, manufacturer and type.

The identity data of the owners or owners of the vehicles are not made public, while data on debts from road tax will not be displayed.
