The large subsidy program of 180 million euros, of the Recovery Fund for the digital transformation of Greek companies, is on the way to implementation, with the aim of launching the relevant electronic platform in the summer.
It is noted that the program will subsidize with a “coupon” the adoption of digital technologies by about 100,000 companies, reducing the digital divide between Greek small and medium enterprises (SMEs) compared to those of the European average, as reflected in the various indicators.
According to information, the subsidies will be directed to solutions that will allow companies to make digital sales, accept electronic payments, and use ERP systems. Cyber security solutions will also be subsidized.
How the subsidy will work
Given that the program should run fast and involves a large number of companies, the solution that is preferred is the creation of an electronic platform in which suppliers will “upload” the offered technological applications.
Each supplier and each solution will be controlled and approved by the Information Society (IS SA), which is the implementing body of the action with the assistance of Grant Thornton. Thus, the main physical object (eligibility of the application, reasonable cost, etc.) is expected to be controlled and pre-approved at the level of supplier solutions, instead of separately as an object implemented in each project.
The offered solutions will be tested once. The companies, after selecting the appropriate applications for them, will automatically receive the subsidy “coupon” and then each subsidy will be checked for various formal dimensions, such as confirmation of completion, payment of own participation by the companies, repayments, etc.
According to the planning, at the end of May – beginning of June, the electronic platform should be fully operational, in which the suppliers will register and post their offered solutions, but also the companies will apply for subsidies. The implementation of the platform has been undertaken by Indigital SA and the support of IS in the implementation of the action by the consulting company Diadikasia SA.
