The implementation of the Digital Work Card, piloted from July 1 in banks and large supermarkets, comes to ensure the interests of employees and the conditions of equal competition for entrepreneurs.
The Digital Work Card, implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Governance, is one of the reforms envisaged by Law 4808/2021 on Labor Protection. According to the Ministry of Labor, the implementation of the Digital Work Card will ensure the interests of employees as now very simply and quickly, they will know data about their work which in many cases until now was in full control of employers with result in several arbitrariness against them on a case by case basis.
Specifically, all information on working hours, overtime, overtime, shifts, breaks, breaks and leave will be declared electronically and will be available at the touch of a button to employees, employers and regulatory authorities.
The Digital Card secures the working hours and the salaries of the employees as two new safety valves are introduced since the beginning and the end of the work will be automatically notified in the ERGANI II system.

Now, working hours (as well as overtime, overtime, shifts, breaks, breaks and vacations) will be declared electronically. Analytically:
• Job scheduling and information on actual start and end times of work will now be digitally entered into the ERGANI II system.
• All the information about the programming, as well as the data of the Digital Work Card for the real working time will be available to the employees through the application myErgani mobile app, as well as through the myErgani web portal (https://myErgani.gov.gr) and in the form of a diary
• All types of licenses will be recorded, as well as hourly licenses.
• Actual working time will be recorded. Employees will be able to report their arrival and departure from work and through an app by scanning their Work Card that will be displayed on the mobile phone in QR code format (exactly as was done with vaccination certificates), and the information will be automatically transmitted to system INSTRUMENTS II.
