The general director of the Butantan Institute, Dimas Covas, resigned from his position at the entity, as reported this Wednesday (30), the State Secretariat for Science, Research and Development in Health, a folder linked to the Institute.
“Professor Dimas Covas asked for his resignation, which was accepted by the Secretariat of Science, Research and Development in Health. Therefore, Dimas left the direction of the Butantan Institute on November 11, the same date on which he was appointed to the Butantan Foundation”, quoted the note from the portfolio.
According to the body, the publication on the exoneration will occur in the next few days in the Official State Gazette, with a retroactive date.
Upon leaving the presidency of the Butantan Institute, Dimas Covas currently holds the position of Executive Director of the Butantan Foundation.
