DIMEA: Fines of 70,500 euros for trafficking – 7,446 ‘monkey’ products confiscated

The Ministry of Development & Investment and the General Secretariat of Commerce & Consumer Protection announce the weekly business activity of the Inter-Service Market Control Unit (DIMEA) to deal with illegal trade throughout the country.

It is noted that:

– During the period from 14.03.2022 to 20.03.2022, a total of 206 inspections were carried out and 32 infringements related to illegal trade were confirmed.

– In collaboration with the Hellenic Police and the Municipal Police of Thessaloniki, the operations of DIMEA. to deal with illegal trade took place in Attica, Eastern Macedonia – Thrace and Central Macedonia.

– Fines of a total amount of € 70,500 were imposed, for violations of the Rules for the Handling and Marketing of Services Products (Rules DIEPPY), the outdoor trade (n.4849 / 2021), n.4446 / 16 regarding the use of a terminal for accepting cards and means of payment by card (POS) and Law 4712/2020 concerning the amendment of Article 11 of Law 3377/2005 Administrative sanctions for dealing with the illegal trafficking of counterfeit / counterfeit products.

– 7,446 pieces of counterfeit items were confiscated, which were sold from online stores (eshop).
