Greece will not play the game of tension, it will not follow the rhetoric of escalation that Turkey chooses, say diplomatic sources, commenting on statements and claims of Turkey’s foreign and defense ministers.
The same sources state that in any case, Greece will respond when it decides, “in the way it will decide and in the institutions that are responsible for these challenges”.
Hulusi Akar’s statement on “Greece’s expansionism”the deputy minister of the interior, Stelios Petsas, commented on the SKAI television station, reminding that the Turkish side has established the casus belli and it would be good if what is said does not conflict with reality.
“No one accuses them of expansionism. They themselves have established the famous casus belli by a decision of the Turkish National Assembly in 1995. Isn’t this an aggressive move? Haven’t they invaded Cyprus themselves and have owned about 40% of the island since 1974 “Didn’t they create the Aegean army in 1975? So sometimes what we say should not conflict with reality,” said Mr. Petsas.
