Athens receives the first tranche, amounting to 3.6 billion euros out of the total 30 billion of the Recovery Fund and Mr. Mitsotakis, in his statements, stressed that the major projects that are starting in the whole region will reshape the image of our country. .

“Big projects are starting … Infrastructure and modernization projects across the country, with an emphasis on the green economy and the digital transition … We occupy the first place in proportion to resources in terms of population and GDP,” said the prime minister, adding that Fund money will be directed to citizens and businesses.

“These are actions that will stimulate employment … Unemployment in the coronavirus crisis fell by more than four points”, the prime minister noted, bringing to the forefront the message of growth with social cohesion.

“The first loan was given to a small and medium enterprise, to be upgraded. The amounts will also be given to large roads, but also to savings actions”, pointed out Kyriakos Mitsotakis, focusing, at the same time, on the energy and the need for the European Union. to provide comprehensive answers to a common European problem.

“No national budget can lift the weight of the fire of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. At the next Summit, steps must be taken to strengthen the productive fabric. European problems seek European solutions. Otherwise, populism will raise its head.” “In Greece we have experienced it and we must not allow the rise of populism … At the same time, the Stability Pact must take into account the new reality … The goals of the future must be based on the geopolitical conditions of the present …”, stressed the Prime Minister.
