Disney Parks Entrance Tickets Will Get More Expensive, Says CEO

In addition to announcing the increase in the prices of its streaming services, the disney will soon also increase the values ​​of the entrances to its theme parks.

In an interview with the American network CNBC, the CEO of Disney, Bob Chapek , stated that “everything depends on the consumer”. “If consumer demand continues, we will act accordingly. The cost of park tickets has jumped over the years, according to company SJ Data Visualizations, which has estimated that Disney World and Disneyland have risen more than 3,871% over the past 50 years — following increases in visitor numbers, salaries, , as well as the cost of rent and gas.

According to CNBC, raising prices due to strong demand is nothing new for Disney. The price of theme park tickets has gone up for decades.

During the most recent quarter, the company reported a 70% increase in revenue across its Parks, Experiences and Products division, to nearly $7.4 billion. Per capita spending on home parks has increased by 10% and over 40% compared to fiscal 2019.

Disney has also strategically limited admission to its parks, an effort that grew out of attempts to avoid crowds during the Covid-19 pandemic. The change would be a way to improve the customer experience.

Disney revealed this Wednesday (10), that Disney+ added 15 million new subscribers in the last quarter, beating expectations. The company also said it expects more growth for the Disney+ core in the next quarter.

The streaming service first launched in November 2019 for $6.99 a month. About three years later, the price of the ad-free product will have gone up 57%. The service already has more than 152 million customers.
