The Walt Disney Company posted a job opening for a lawyer to study and work on an “accelerated and aggressive schedule” with emerging technologies including NFT and DeFi.
The conglomerate’s vacancy states that the lawyer will “collaborate with business teams in the development of new global technology projects” in such segments as the metaverse and decentralized finance (DeFi):
“Assist with due diligence of NFT projects, blockchain, third party marketplaces and cloud providers. Negotiate and draft contracts for these projects.”
The specialist will join the staff of the legal department of the Walt Disney Corporation, in the division of corporate transactions. The candidate must have five years of experience in managing and handling complex transactions, preferably in a large multinational law firm with an internationally recognized corporate practice. As a rule, such experts consider mergers and acquisitions and other complex business relationships.
Earlier, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said the company is exploring and developing plans for the metaverse. In June, the corporation hired a former Apple executive as vice president of next generation creative context, and the following month, the consumer manager was promoted to executive vice president of consumer experience.
The Walt Disney Company began showing interest in blockchain back in 2016. In particular, the company posted a vacancy for the position of a specialist in working with a closed blockchain. The expert was required in the DTSS department (Department of technological solutions and services).
