Disney turns 100 and Epcot gets the biggest expansion in its history: 4 new pavilions

After the 18-month celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort, parks around the world receive the disney 100a celebration of 100 years of the Walt Disney Company, which goes far beyond the parks: it is a celebration of the history of the company and all its characters, films, products, resorts and complexes.

Of course, the highlight is the largest Disney complex in the world: the Walt Disney World in Orlando at Florida . In the coming years, the resort will undergo the biggest transformation in its history, bringing the next generation of immersive stories to life through a multitude of new attractions and experiences.

O epcot the second park to be built in Orlando, receives the biggest expansion in its history, with four pavilions that manifest important aspects of the world and its peoples: World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature and World Discovery.

These pavilions are filled with new experiences, rooted in authenticity and innovation, that take visitors to new destinations, where the real becomes fantastic in a celebration of curiosity, discovery and the magic of possibility.

The World Showcase is the oldest area of ​​the park, where we can visit 11 countries in a single place, getting to know their cultures, tasting typical foods and seeing up close replicas of monuments and architecture around the world.

New is World Nature, the neighborhood dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty, wonder and balance of the natural world. Includes The Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilions, as well as the new Journey of Water attraction, inspired by “Moana: A Sea of ​​Adventures”.

Disney announced Tuesday that the new Moana area will open later this year, sometime in the fall.

Journey of Water, inspired by Moana, will be the first Disney Parks experience to evoke the success of the Disney film. This exploration trail will invite visitors to meet and play with magical, living water.

Like Moana’s friend the ocean, the water will have a personality of its own, helping guests learn how to protect the natural water cycle in a fun and engaging way.

Fall will also see the completion of the new World Celebration neighborhood. As the center of the park, it will feature different gardens that change with the seasons. It will also house the new Communicore Plaza and Communicore Hall, the latter offering a place to meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

World Celebration will be the site of the park’s renowned festivals and also where guests will discover Dreamers Point, an awe-inspiring lookout displaying a statue of Walt Disney called “Walt the Dreamer”.

And science and technology enthusiasts also enjoy World Discovery, where stories about science, technology and intergalactic adventure come to life.

A Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is the first “Otherworld” exhibit pavilion at Epcot. The adventure begins in the Galaxarium, a planetarium-like exhibit that explores the similarities and mysteries of Earth’s and Xandar’s galaxy formation.

Guests are invited to learn more about the treasures Xandar has to share – right up until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive and adventures across the cosmos begin.

In addition to new attractions and areas, the “Epcot Forever” nighttime show has returned to World Showcase Lagoon. Featuring soulful renditions of memorable Epcot songs, the show sparks fond memories of the park’s rich history.

Other 100 Years of Disney News

In other Disney parks the party also happens! Fan-favorite nighttime show “Happily Ever After” has returned to light up the night sky beneath Cinderella’s castle at Magic Kingdom park.

New this year, the nightly fireworks show will immerse guests completely in Disney’s thrilling stories as new projections stretch across Main Street USA, adding even more magic to this spectacle.

Hollywood Studios also won the Roundup Rodeo BBQ, with the theme “Toy Story”, the restaurant serves the typical American barbecue.

The year 2023 celebrates 25 years of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park with the return of attractions such as “Festival of the Lion King” and “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!”. It’s the place to encounter wild animals, get high-speed thrills and even travel to an unbelievable world, Pandora – The World of Avatar.
