“Disrespect for the judiciary,” says Nunes about the continuity of the motorcycle taxi in SP

The mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), classified on Wednesday (21) as a “disrespect for people, the public power and the judiciary” the continuity of the operation of the motorcycle service in São Paulo by the application companies after suspension by court order last week.

In a press conference, the mayor also stated that the Municipal Attorney General’s Office (PGM) notified the court about the breach of the judicial measure.

“The Municipal Prosecutor’s Office notified today the judge and the Court of Justice, and also the Civil Police established the inquiry to investigate the crime of disobedience [por parte das empresas de aplicativo]. So, as mayor of the city, we have to leave our total repudiation here for this unfortunate attitude to breach a decree, breaking a judicial decision, ”he said.

The mayor also promised to tighten the inspection against the service again.

“Of course it is an activity that is illegal, already has a prohibiting decree, has a court decision forbidding. It would even be an incorrect action to ours if we did not do the inspection actions to prevent illegal activity.”

The companies 99 and Uber continue to operate motorcycle taxes in São Paulo, even after the suspension of the sport by the Court of São Paulo.

Last Friday (16), the judge and rapporteur of the case, Eduardo Gouvêa, pointed out a provisional reason for the city, choosing to suspend the service until the case is definitively judged.
