Last year, with the introduction of the iPhone 12 smartphones, Apple announced that it had removed the charger from smartphones in the box to protect the environment, sparking heated discussions. However, this is only Apple’s first move, according to sources familiar with the matter.
According to MacRumors, Apple has notified authorized service centers that the company will introduce a new repair method for the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12. If earlier, with certain problems, smartphones were simply replaced with new ones, now they will be repaired.
In an internal memo received by MacRumors, Apple said that technicians, starting February 23, will be able to repair iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 that won’t turn on, have problems with the motherboard, Face ID, or have a damaged back.

Apple Authorized Service Providers will receive a new unit that includes the back of the iPhone with all components except the display and main camera. If users have any problem other than a broken screen and main camera block, then they will have this new block installed, leaving the old display and camera.
The new repair method will be available in all countries and regions where the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 are sold. In a memo, Apple said it is taking the step to protect the environment and reduce the carbon footprint of every product it sells.
