Dive into a cloud pool or swing on a donut: Open the happiest museum

“We are the dreamers of dreams” said Willy Wonka’s character in Roald Dahl’s mythical book ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and in the novel he had a special place to make it possible: a full factory of Candys. Now a museum designed to be happy lands in Spain, also with many goodies and activities that will make the visitor “escape” for a while, as Christian Halterman, CEO of Parafina Comunicación, the company that brings this experience in Spain after its first three editions in Portugal and Brazil.

The Sweetest Museum in the World opens its doors in Barcelona this Christmas with a very interactive proposal. You can find a pool with simulated cloud treats, in which you can put your feet but not dive due to the security measures related to the covid; a donut-shaped swing; a giant Christmas music box; hunting for gummy bears, a gum carousel; a bathtub of sweet balls or a cloud to be able to balance yourself that undoubtedly evokes us to a recreation of feminine hygiene ads.

In addition, the visitor can download an application that allows an immersion in each of the rooms discovering surprises as well as finding out about the origin of each of the sweet foods that there are such as heart-shaped churros or donuts . You can even try some treats along the way. An entire interactive experience that guarantees augmented reality and new technologies.

Christian Halterman comments that this museum is totally “necessary” considering the moment of health emergency and recalls that for that very reason he had to postpone opening the experience for a few months. For this reason, he points out that safety is essential throughout the tour with small groups so that fun and tranquility can be guaranteed.

In its previous editions in Lisbon, SÃ £ o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the museum had more than 100,000 visitors who enjoyed its themed rooms inspired by sweets, such as ice creams, lollipops or gummy bears. In Barcelona you can see some more, such as those related to fruit, churros or Christmas, in addition to having more interaction.

There is also a special room created by visual artist Isa Muguruza who has been inspired by the museum itself and the happiness of chewing gum. In addition, with each ticket sold, a donation will be made to the Bobath Foundation focused on the comprehensive treatment and education of children and young people with cerebral palsy.

“We Spaniards are fun, we like to enjoy ourselves with the people we love and this space is the ideal place to do so, and even to remember our childhood,” says Halterman, who remarks that the museum “will help us distract ourselves for a while and give free rein to happiness “before the” complicated “moment that we are living. A sweet escape that allows us to dream our dreams.
