The head of diversity and inclusion at B3 Alexandre Kiyohara believes that “diversity and company culture must go hand in hand” so that there are, in fact, inclusive advances in the structure of companies.
In an interview with CNN Radio on CNN on Plural+, the specialist, who is a trans man, used B3 itself as an example, which has inclusion as a corporate goal.
“You have to look at processes, whether the reporting channel is ready, whether the team is ready to take these elements into account, and whether the standard processes are truly inclusive,” he explained.
According to him, it is necessary to “redesign” the company’s processes, from handing over the computer to the employee to the area where it will be located.
In the same way, this goes through the leadership of the company.
“When you’re a leader and you’ve worked in a certain way for a long time, it’s time to catch up. We are inspired by leadership, which, if committed to the agenda, makes inclusion evolve a lot.”
Awareness is “important and constant”, for Alexandre. “You have to be in constant literacy.”
The expert said that sometimes doing the basics is enough.
“You don’t need a huge program to include, sometimes psychological support already helps or processes that give understanding for everyday life already make a huge difference.”
He cites the bathroom as an example: “I often say about the genderless bathroom controversy that it is nothing more than a toilet.”
“These are small processes, but they make the journey bigger, of all the things that need to change, the main thing is to be open to guidelines that are not part of everyday life”, he added.
The head of diversity and inclusion assesses that the “new generation is empowered and had more access to guidelines, such as gender identity, we see this reflected in the labor market, politics and education”.
