The government of Rio Grande do Sul launched the Diversity Online Police Station (DOL Diversidade), this Thursday (3). The state launched a new digital tool to facilitate the recording of incidents related to crimes of intolerance and discrimination.
DOL Diversidade is a platform that can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, through computers, tablets or smartphones. The tool allows victims of crimes motivated by issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, among others, to record their incidents virtually and confidentially.
The objective of DOL Diversidade is to facilitate access to justice for victims of crimes of intolerance, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of reporting these cases.
Tool to combat intolerance
The new platform, integrated into the Rio Grande do Sul Online Police Station, which has existed since 2002, offers a safe and efficient channel for people to report acts of discrimination. The initiative is part of a broader movement by the Rio Grande do Sul government to promote diversity and respect for human rights.
By accessing the Online Police Station website, users can register their incidents simply and quickly, without the need to go to a physical police station. The platform has an intuitive system that guides the user throughout the incident registration process.
“We will not live in a peaceful society if there is an obtuse, absolutely irresponsible thought that the majority must be served and the minority must adapt. Minorities need to find welcoming conditions in the State”, emphasized Governor Eduardo Leite, during the platform’s launch event.
