The singer’s profile Djavan 75, shared a video of lookalike contest dedicated to him that took place among students at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE).
He reposted the video on his Instagram stories on Tuesday (21).
The fashion for lookalike contests
This type of competition is fashionable. After going viral in other countries, the search for the perfect lookalike arrived in Brazil and we have already had competitions inspired by Selton Mello, Wagner Moura and Fernanda Torres.
It all started with actor Timothée Chalamet. In October, hundreds of spectators turned out at Washington Square Park in the US to watch more than a dozen brown-haired 20-somethings vie for the title of Chalamet’s unofficial lookalike. The event, organized by YouTuber Anthony Po, ended with some arrests, a US$500 fine and an appearance by the Oscar-nominated actor himself.
Then things escalated quickly: actor Paul Mescal has already inspired two different contests, in Ireland and the United Kingdom; Harry Styles, Dev Patel, Zayn Malik and Jeremy Allen White have also been the subject of competitions.
