DJI introduced the stabilizer Osmo Mobile 6: it can track objects in the frame

DJI, which for many years was known exclusively for drones, has recently been actively working to conquer other markets – it releases its action cameras, which are almost as good as GoPro, and, of course, various image stabilization systems when shooting video. And yesterday, September 22, the company officially introduced its new product called Osmo Mobile 6 – a special stabilization system for a smartphone that has a whole list of both hardware and software advantages. In addition, the user can easily use almost any smartphone, so you should not worry about compatibility.

The fact is that DJI Osmo Mobile 6 uses a special mount that can be expanded to fit even large smartphones in a case. This is actually a very important advantage, as often users have to remove the case from their device before installing it in the gimbal. At the same time, the owner of the stabilizer can fold it into a compact enough format to carry even in the pocket of a jacket or jeans, and the weight of the device is just over 300 grams. The gimbal design even includes a retractable stem that allows you to change the viewing angle or shoot at different distances from the object.

But perhaps the most important update in DJI Osmo Mobile 6 is support for the new ActiveTrack 5.0 technology, which allows you to track moving objects in the frame for a better picture. The company said that the new version of the technology allows much better tracking of various objects in the frame even at long distances, plus the same function now works on the front camera. In this mode, the gimbal locks the tilt so that the camera stays level and the device will follow the subject along the path in panorama mode.

Additionally, there are many modes that allow you to create dynamic shots with time-lapse, smooth zoom, and more. In fact, the DJI Osmo Mobile 6’s list of creative options has really grown significantly compared to the previous generation of the gimbal, and the iPhone also has an exclusive quick launch feature. The fact is that when a smartphone is connected to the stabilizer, a notification from the Mimo application immediately appears on the screen about entering the camera view mode of the device – due to this, the user can get to work three times faster.

The DJI Osmo Mobile 6 retails for $159 and comes with a magnetic clip, tripod, power cable, and carry bag.
