DJI is categorically against the use of its drones for military purposes

As we have already reported, DJI has temporarily suspended its activities in Russia and Ukraine, becoming the first major Chinese firm to cease operations in our country.

The Chinese drone giant has announced that it is suspending sales in Russia and Ukraine. The company will also be engaged in an internal reassessment of compliance requirements in different jurisdictions. Earlier, Ukrainian citizens and officials accused DJI of leaking Ukrainian military data to Russia. However, the world’s largest drone manufacturer calls these claims “completely false.”

DJI previously issued a statement regarding the use of drones for military purposes to clarify that it does not manufacture or sell products for military purposes. A DJI representative also clarified that the decision to stop sales is not an attempt to make a statement about its position on Russia or Ukraine. The spokesperson clarified that the move reflects the company’s principles and also noted that DJI does not support the use of its drones to cause harm.

The following theses are also highlighted:

  • DJI does not endorse or sell products for military use;
  • DJI does not provide after-sales service for products identified as military use;
  • DJI strongly opposes attempts to attach weapons to our products;
  • DJI has refused to make any adjustments or modifications that would allow our products to be used for military purposes.

Recall that recently the Chinese manufacturer BOE refused to admit that he has a production line in Russia. In addition, Huawei is reviewing the Russian product line and sending employees on long vacations.
