DJI Unveils Mini 2 SE Mini Drone: $369, Flys 10Km

For several weeks, there have been rumors on the Internet that DJI is planning to release a new compact drone, and today, February 9, it turned out that the insider information was reliable – the company did indeed introduce a miniature and extremely affordable drone, the Mini 2 SE, which has a number of bonuses compared to the original model of this range. For example, the novelty received support for its own OcuSync 2.0 command transmission system technology, which allows the drone to fly even longer distances than in the case of the original Mini SE device.

However, the Mini 2 SE has other advantages that are much more important. For example, DJI representatives said that the drone can fly on a single battery charge for 31 minutes, which is quite decent for a compact solution. Although, of course, the upgrade compared to the original model in the line is extremely modest – the Mini SE flew on one battery for 30 minutes, that is, the difference is only a minute. This is probably due to the fact that the case of the device, as well as its hardware component, have not changed much – the manufacturer initially made a high-quality entry-level product to remake it radically.

As a result, the Mini 2 SE, like its predecessor, weighs only 249 grams, which is extremely important in certain countries at the level of legal restrictions. It also uses a slightly outdated but decent camera system that was also used in the original Mini SE. We are talking about a three-axis stabilization gimbal and a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor that is capable of shooting video at a resolution of 2.7K. Moreover, this camera can take pictures at 12 megapixels with pretty good image quality. Accordingly, the main change in the second version of the drone lies precisely in the support of proprietary technology for flights at a distance of 10 kilometers.

Officially, DJI Mini 2 SE will be sold for $369 in the official store and through partner companies, the start of sales is scheduled for next month, but no one can name the exact date. In addition, DJI, in a characteristic manner, will also sell various kits if simply buying a drone is not enough for the user. For example, the Fly More Combo kit is already presented, which will provide a potential buyer with additional batteries, replacement blades and a bag for transportation – for this you will have to pay $ 519.
