The Amazonas Environmental Police decided to investigate reports of mistreatment of animals that lived in the same house as the former boss of Boi Garantido, Djidja Cardoso. The accusations against the influencer's relatives came to light after her death, which culminated in the arrest of the victim's brother and mother.
The investigations will begin this Monday, when the investigation will be opened by the Specialized Police Station for Crimes Against the Environment and Urbanism of Amazonas (Dema). The information was confirmed by delegate Juliana Viga to CNN .
In one of the images obtained by the police, Djidja's brother appears holding one of the snakes in his hands and inhaling smoke that is supposedly marijuana. At least six snakes were raised by Djidja's family. Boa constrictors frequently appeared on social media and bore the names of Aphrodite, Seu Banana, Posseidon, Medusa, Zeus and Athena.
“We will investigate the crime of mistreatment of animals, due to the author Ademar having subjected a snake to inhalation of smoke from a marijuana cigarette and we will investigate other situations of mistreatment in relation to the dogs that lived in Djidja's residence”, said the delegate.
In an interview with CNN , Amazonas state deputy Joana Darc, who is a veterinarian, said she participated in rescuing the animals after their arrests. “They also had a kennel. This kennel sold animals and we are also investigating the fact that perhaps they also maintained this kennel to be able to justify the purchase of ketamine”, says the deputy.
Ketamine, or 'ketamine', is the substance that led to the death of model and influencer Djidja Cardoso, who was Boi Garantido's little girl and, consequently, one of the main characters in the folklore of the Partintins Festival. Joana says that in addition to the snakes, eight dogs were rescued. One of them, who was named Huck, had even suffered a cardiac arrest due to the use of the drug, which is only sold to veterinarians as its use is authorized by Anvisa only as a sedative for large animals, such as horses.
Joana is president of the Animal Protection Commission of the state Legislative Assembly. “When there are these cases, we work in partnership with the police. So, I focused on checking the animals, removing them from that situation, placing them with faithful custodians and protecting their health, collecting urine, blood and X-ray tests, also to detect whether they contain these substances”, adds the deputy.
Investigation
One of the paths that the investigation must take are the suspicions that the animals could be part of rituals of the 'Father, Mother and Life' sect, which had Djidja's brother, Ademar Cardoso, and her mother, Cleusimar Cardoso, as leaders. spiritual.
For the police, the sect is related to the abusive use of ketamine which, when applied to humans, can cause delirium, hallucinations and serious side effects, leading to death.
At a press conference this Sunday (2/6), lawyers for the Cardoso family said that there were no types of satanic rituals involving animals on the part of the imprisoned family members.
A CNN was unable to establish contact with Ademar and Cleusimar's lawyers.
