According to Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, bitcoin and other decentralized digital currencies have no future. Such tools have not yet become widespread in the world.
In the future, one should also not expect the global use of bitcoin and other virtual coins, Medvedev said during his speech at an event held on the VKontakte platform.
At the same time, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council believes that decentralized digital currencies will not go down in history. They will remain on the market, and their number will even increase in the coming years. But their practical application will remain negligible.
But central bank tokens (CBDC) have great potential. They have a great future, Medvedev summed up.
Note that the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council previously served as head of the Russian Cabinet. In this post, Dmitry Medvedev stated back in May 2019 that the hype around bitcoin and the crypto market, in general, remained in the past.
