Its former president of Russia and current vice president of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Mededev warned today (2/3) the NATO not to reinforce her Ukraine with fighter jets, arguing that doing so would be tantamount to a declaration of war by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
According to him, the only reason why NATO is reluctant to deliver fighter jets or long-range weapon systems to Ukraine is that “whoever decides to deliver (or repair) such equipment and weapons, foreign mercenaries and military trainers, should be considered legitimate targets’ by the Russian armed forces, Medvedev wrote in a Telegram post.
He added, however, that the West may not resist for much longer, because “the temptation to destroy Russia is great.”.
Although as president and then as prime minister of Russia Medvedev was described as a “moderate”, he is one of the most ardent supporters of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, often launching vitriolic attacks and threats against Kiev and its Western allies.
