Russia can be disconnected from the global network, but the authorities have a plan of action in this case, said Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, RIA Novosti writes.

The law “on sovereign Runet” is intended to protect Russia from such an opportunity, he noted. It will help “restore or create” the autonomous operation of the Russian segment of the Internet, although it will take time, Medvedev added.
According to him, technologically “everything is ready for this”, and the relevant legislative decisions have already been made.
At the same time, Medvedev said that there are no signs that Russia is going to be disconnected from the global Internet.
