The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, announced today that Russia is stopping deliveries of rocket engines to the United States.
“Today we have decided to stop deliveries to the United States of the production of the Energomash Research and Production Association. Let me remind you that somewhere else since the mid-1990s, they have been quite active. First of all, these are the RD-180 engines, on which the Atlas-5 rocket flies like a main engine, and the RD-181 engine, which is used by the first stage of the Antares rocket“, – quotes the words of a top manager of RIA Novosti. Rogozin also added:Let the USA fly on their broomsticks“.

However, it should be noted that last year the United States refused to purchase RD-180 engines. In September, 2021 the chief executive of United Launch Alliance company Tory Bruno declared it. Before that, a reserve of RD-180 was made in order to ensure the remaining launches of the Atlas V rocket. For the USA, Atlas V is already the past, the rocket will be completely decommissioned in a few years. It is being replaced by the Vulcan Centaur, which already uses American engines.
